Portrait of a Precious Object
The representation of the function of the object by means of what it serves. My object's function is memory. The stone I brought with me to reflect on the sea and the natural environment I found it in. This stone serves as a memory of home and its cause is to make me think of home as a place, as family, as roots and materials. My roots originate from several places, formed by people in constant movement and search of home. Constant movement creates new homelands, reshapes memories, changes people. My stone is a reflection of these things: a memory you carry, a replacement from one place to another, a changing of substance, a moving piece of earth and a place we all need to be at.
Apart from that and in contrast with the above, it also serves as a decorative.
